Following the sudden turn of events in the country, Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans have applauded the action taken by the Zimbabwe defense Forces to stamp control over the chaos in Zanu PF and called for the reinstatement of all booted out party stewards before Congress.
Addressing Journalists in Harare a few hours ago ousted War Veterans leader Douglas Mahiya said the constitution allows the army to intervene to protect the national security of the country and said Zanu PF should set aside all suspensions and dismissal of its members by the G40 faction within Zanu PF.
“All the people from the central committee, provincial and ordinary members should be pardoned before the December (Zanu PF) congress”, he said.
After some singing of revolutionary songs, Douglas Mahiya urged war veterans in the room to celebrate.
Mahiya said his speech is based on the constitution as Zanu PF had thrown the constitution of the country into the dustbin.
“The constitution of Zimbabwe allows the army to intervene to protect the national security of the country and war veterans should be restored as the fourth wing of Zanu PF,
“Why did Robert Mugabe choose to work with counter revolutionaries? Why did he choose to denounce war veterans who have been with him during the liberation war?
“Robert Mugabe must be recalled from his position as his crimes are much worse than Ndabaningi Sitholes crimes”, he said.
Matemadanda castigated the outspoken Zanu PF Youth leader Kudzai Chipanga for leading a quasi-army insulting Army Generals warning him that Zanu PF youth league is not an army of the state.
“The youths should respect state institutions mandated to work for people,
“All political parties in Zim must recognise the role played by war veterans. We want to facilitate good and proper running of forthcoming elections.
War veterans who have been chucked out of Zanu PF have been facing a torrid time whenever the first lady held the microphone, taking advantage of the Youths Interface Rallies held in most parts of the country and their future was lingo until the sun dawned on them today.
